Back and Alive

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 30, 2008, 11:38 AM
  • Listening to: Carly Smithson
  • Reading: LOGO Vol.3 at logocomic.com
Woah!! So much happened in Mexico, it was crazy man! I spent the whole week building houses for poor families who couldn't afford to buy one. There was a lot of good (and interesting) food! On the last day, we packed our car full of 13 people (in a mini van) and almost got in a BAD accident with a crazy driver almost flipping over and smashing us from behind!!! So glad to be alive right now...

So I see my webcomic has been updating normally, and it will continue to update as time progresses. Thanks for all of you who kept reading, and double thanks to all who will keep on reading, and buying my books!

Thanks for the add man^^

If you are willing to participate in the RSOM contest again, I suggest you start learning anatomy and perspective drawing.

Once you got those skills nailed down, you could go in a gazillion different possibilities.

NEVER EVER GIVE UP!

Thanks for the info and I'm glad you like it! I don't actually "script" my pages like I should... During my freshman year in highschool, I wrote just a summary of the WHOLE story of LOGO, and then on another paper, I wrote summaries of each separate chapter of LOGO. I've revised that, but I've been sticking to that since... I SHOULD script, but I tend to sidetrack sometimes, and I like sidetracking. :). I recommend using a webcomic for practice because it helps train you to stay on schedule and you get feedback/critiquing from your audience and it really helps!

I actually started college as an illustration major, and I found art school to be quite brutal, so I decided to study sociology instead. Now I do art/drawing for personal enjoyment and to entertain family and friends. That's something I couldn't stress enough! Make sure you enter art school with the mind set that it is something you want to do FOR YOU. I think if I would have had that attitude, I would of hung around. But either way, it's still okay; I am happy, and I'm successful. You don't neccessarily have to have an art degree to be an artist; but to get in with the big dogs, like video game companies and animation studios, that BFA is very important! Keep your options open! That double major could really come in handy ^_~ Good luck!

BTW I really enjoy LOGO! I'm currently working on my own manga. I would like some advice, actually. What method do you use to script your pages? Do you do a lot of writting and editing? Do you have some crit your pages?

Thanks!

Hey! Thanks! I've considered art school, and if I do go into art school-wise, I will double major with...something. I've just heard way too many sad stories involving artists...:(
